Deputy Chief of Party – Integrated WASH & Nutrition

About the role

Food for the Hungry is seeking a Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) to lead Integrated Water, Sanitation, Hygiene (WASH) and Nutrition activities within a five‑year USAID‑funded Resilience Food Security Activity in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Reporting to the Chief of Party, the DCOP will ensure high‑impact, evidence‑based interventions that improve food and nutrition security for vulnerable households.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee technical design, implementation, and results delivery for WASH and Nutrition components in line with the approved work plan.
• Collaborate with the Chief of Party and Agriculture Production and Livelihoods lead to develop annual work plans and budgets.
• Coordinate with government counterparts and project teams to facilitate smooth execution of activities and stakeholder consultations.
• Prepare and submit all required USAID deliverables, including progress reports, annual reports, and financial statements.
• Support Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (M&E) processes and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading integrated WASH and Nutrition programs that address food security and economic resilience.
• Strong background in managing large, multi‑sectoral development projects funded by USAID or similar donors.
• Demonstrated ability to work with government agencies, NGOs, and community stakeholders.
• Excellent leadership and strategic planning skills.
