Logistics Operations Coordinator – Lobito Railway

About the role

The Logistics Operations Coordinator will support the Lobito Atlantic Railway project, for which Trafigura holds a significant equity stake. Based in Lubumbashi, DRC, the role ensures efficient transportation, storage, and distribution of goods along the railway line while liaising with clients, internal teams, suppliers, customs agents, and terminal operators.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate cargo and track deliveries from origin to destination.
• Communicate with suppliers, freight forwarders, warehouses, and customers.
• Provide clients with tracking updates, reporting, and required information.
• Monitor customs progress, identify potential delays, and resolve issues.
• Prepare and verify invoices, shipping documents, and customs paperwork.
• Update internal systems with accurate data.
• Monitor inventory levels, aging, and stock movements.
• Resolve delivery discrepancies, missing documents, or delays.
• Support the commercial team with operational and administrative tasks.
• Ensure compliance with transport, customs regulations, and company procedures.

Required profile

• Tertiary degree in a relevant field.
• Several years of experience in logistics or a fast‑paced trading environment.
• Knowledge of multimodal transport, especially road and rail.
• Familiarity with in‑transit warehouse operations and customs procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
