About the role

This position is essential for turning monthly trade flow requirements into optimized, cost-effective transport plans that support the company’s margin objectives. Based in Kolwezi, DRC, the Logistics Operations Support professional will oversee local trucking activities for copper shipments to rail-bound warehouses and sulphur shipments in the opposite direction.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the local trucking business in Kolwezi for copper destined for the Lobito rail hub and sulphur moving the other way.
• Coordinate more than 30,000 MT per month across eight logistics service providers, with volumes expected to double by year‑end.
• Develop uplift plans between service providers and forecasts, and report these plans to internal teams and customers.
• Perform daily tracking and reporting of transport progress.
• Identify shortfalls, communicate them to stakeholders, and propose corrective solutions.
• Liaise with mines to obtain loading plans and release required documents.
• Align warehouse schedules with train departure plans.

Required profile

• Tertiary degree.
• At least five years of experience in commodities trading or a similarly fast‑paced trading environment.
• Strong knowledge of multimodal transport (road and rail).
• Familiarity with in‑transit warehouse operations.
• Strategic thinking, problem‑solving abilities, and high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Commercial acumen with a focus on cost optimisation.
