Manager Lending Services

About the role

The Manager Lending Services leads the development, growth, and operational management of M-Pesa lending products and services. This role drives financial inclusion by designing customer‑centric digital lending solutions, managing strategic partnerships, and ensuring compliance and sustainable revenue growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage a portfolio of digital lending products aligned with customer needs and business objectives.
• Identify market opportunities, introduce new lending solutions, and diversify the portfolio to minimise concentration risk.
• Deliver targets for service penetration, loan uptake, revenue and profitability, and monitor product performance.
• Build and maintain relationships with banking, micro‑finance, fintech partners; negotiate service agreements and resolve operational issues.
• Ensure continuous availability, functionality and performance of lending services through testing and monitoring.
• Collaborate with Product, Technology, Customer Operations, Risk and Compliance teams to resolve incidents and improve service quality.
• Monitor lending operations for regulatory compliance, oversee operational controls and support risk mitigation initiatives.
• Produce performance reports, portfolio analysis and provide insights for strategic decision‑making.

Required profile

• Experience in digital lending and credit product management.
• Knowledge of mobile financial services and mobile money operations.
• Proven ability in product development and lifecycle management.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to translate market insights into product strategy.
• Experience working with cross‑functional teams and external partners.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements and governance frameworks in financial services.
