Officer, Risk Management and Compliance

About the role

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is seeking an Officer for Risk Management and Compliance to support its humanitarian response to the ongoing Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The role will contribute to safeguarding IFRC operations, ensuring adherence to the organisation’s zero‑tolerance policies, and strengthening risk‑based decision‑making across the emergency appeal.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and assess operational risks linked to the Ebola response, including health, security, and reputational risks.
• Ensure compliance with IFRC’s policies on conduct, child safeguarding, and financial integrity throughout the emergency operation.
• Provide guidance to field teams on risk mitigation measures and compliance requirements.
• Support coordination with national societies, governments, and partners to align risk management practices.
• Prepare risk and compliance reports for senior management and donors.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in risk management, compliance, or related functions within a humanitarian or international development context.
• Strong understanding of IFRC’s humanitarian principles, zero‑tolerance policy, and child safeguarding standards.
• Ability to work in fast‑moving, high‑pressure environments and adapt to evolving outbreak dynamics.
