Project Director

About the role

The Project Director will lead the Kinga Maisha multi‑sectoral programme in Ituri province, DRC, responding to the 17th Ebola outbreak. Reporting to the Field Manager, the role ensures safe, timely, and high‑quality delivery of health, nutrition, IPC/WASH, protection and coordination interventions across 13 health zones.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and governance for the Save the Children‑IRC‑AJEDEC consortium.
• Manage delivery of all Save the Children components, ensuring compliance, budget adherence and technical quality.
• Represent the consortium in national and regional coordination mechanisms and align activities with the national response plan.
• Collaborate with technical teams in Bunia, the DRC country office and global partners.
• Integrate Kinga Maisha interventions with other Save the Children projects for coherence and resource efficiency.
• Oversee complementary projects and adapt working hours during emergencies.

Required profile

• Extensive experience leading complex, multi‑partner humanitarian awards, preferably US Government funded.
• Proven technical and operational leadership in Ebola or high‑consequence infectious disease responses covering IPC/WASH, health, nutrition, RCCE and protection.
• Demonstrated ability to hold overall budget responsibility for large awards, manage risk and ensure donor compliance.
• Strong experience in aligning consortium activities with multiple stakeholders and national response frameworks.
