Provincial Surveillance & M&E Advisor – Malaria & NTDs

About the role

PATH is seeking a Provincial Surveillance, Monitoring & Evaluation Advisor to support its malaria and neglected tropical diseases program in the Haut‑Katanga province of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The advisor will lead surveillance and M&E activities, work closely with provincial health authorities, and help strengthen data‑driven decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate MACEPA activities at the provincial level and represent PATH in strategic meetings with health authorities.
• Strengthen the institutional capacity of the Provincial National Malaria Control Programme (PNLP) and central health‑zone offices.
• Provide technical inputs to PNLP and HMIS thematic groups on epidemiological surveillance, case management, and specific interventions such as SMC, CCM, and cross‑border entomological surveillance.
• Support community‑level malaria management through needs assessments, training, briefing on updated guidelines, and documentation.
• Participate in coordination mechanisms to enhance provincial PNLP and health‑zone capacity for comprehensive surveillance, monitoring, and evaluation.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading surveillance and M&E activities for malaria or NTD programs.
• Familiarity with PNLP structures and HMIS data systems.
• Ability to work with provincial health authorities and technical partners.
• Strong coordination and capacity‑building skills.
