Safety Manager - Balance Cantilever Bridge Project

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead EHS initiatives on our Balance Cantilever Bridge Construction Project in Central Africa. The role involves implementing safety policies, conducting audits, and ensuring a safe working environment throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor EHS policies, procedures, and practices in line with statutory and company requirements.
• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments for bridge construction activities.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Organise safety training programs covering fire safety, occupational health, and emergency preparedness.
• Manage and monitor suspended rope platforms and scaffolding activities.
• Maintain and inspect firefighting equipment and conduct safety drills.
• Investigate incidents and accidents, prepare Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Maintain accurate records of permits, incident logs, inspections, and environmental reports.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and submit required compliance documentation.
• Coordinate with project management, engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and workers on HSE matters.

Required profile

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in Safety/HSE, preferably in construction field projects.
• Proven project safety management experience.
• Hands‑on experience implementing safety procedures and conducting site inspections.
• Relevant safety certifications such as IOSH or NEBOSH are preferred.
