Senior Migration Health Programme Coordinator (P)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Senior Migration Health Programme Coordinator to lead its migration health portfolio in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Reporting to the Chief of Mission, the role provides strategic direction, technical supervision and operational management of health programmes that serve migrants, mobile and vulnerable populations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage migration health projects in line with IOM policies, national regulations and regional strategies.
• Provide technical oversight for surveillance, disease control training, vaccination services and risk‑communication activities at border health posts.
• Coordinate closely with the Regional Thematic Specialist – Migration Health (East, Horn and Southern Africa) and the Regional Health Assessment Programme Coordinator (Africa).
• Analyse mobility trends, produce reports and advise on preparedness measures for infectious disease threats.
• Ensure effective collaboration with government authorities, WASH and Protection clusters and other IOM programmes.
• Supervise frontline health staff, monitor commodity supplies and support health system strengthening initiatives.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in migration health, public health or related fields, preferably in conflict‑affected settings.
• Proven ability to manage complex programmes, supervise technical teams and liaise with government and UN partners.
• Strong analytical skills for mobility trend analysis and reporting.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French is an asset.
• Willingness to work in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and travel to border sites.
