Superintendent – Underground Planning

About the role

The Kibali Gold Mine is looking for an experienced Superintendent to lead underground (UG) planning. You will drive budget planning, mentor engineering teams, and ensure safe, efficient operations aligned with Barrick’s core values.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, track, and mentor the annual budget plan for underground operations.
• Upskill and supervise short‑term, mid‑term, and drill‑and‑blast engineering teams.
• Collaborate with technical groups, operations, safety, and procurement to align fleet and planning strategies.
• Monitor fleet expenses, performance metrics, and integrate emerging technologies for equipment reliability.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards and promote a zero‑harm safety culture.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mining, Geological, or Civil Engineering; MSc/MEng preferred.
• 7‑10 years of experience in mine planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Proven leadership of mining engineering teams and strong decision‑making skills.
