WASH Manager

About the role

The WASH Manager leads the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) team supporting the Ebola response in Ituri province. This role ensures safe water supply, sanitation services, healthcare waste management, and hygiene promotion across treatment centres, transit sites and affected communities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and monitor WASH activities linked to Ebola response in health facilities and community sites.
• Guarantee adequate quantity and quality of water supply for all supported establishments.
• Oversee installation and maintenance of hand‑washing stations, chlorination systems, water storage and sanitation infrastructure.
• Manage safe disposal of infectious and non‑infectious healthcare waste.
• Supervise environmental cleaning, decontamination and safe burial structures according to WHO, Ministry of Health, Sphere and Save the Children standards.
• Collaborate with health, IPC, logistics, supply chain and MEAL teams to ensure integrated outbreak prevention and control.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading WASH programmes in humanitarian or health emergency contexts.
• Strong knowledge of Ebola‑related infection prevention and control measures.
• Ability to work closely with multi‑sectoral teams and local health authorities.
• Excellent planning, monitoring and quality‑assurance skills.
