Business Development Coordinator – DRC Programs

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Business Development Coordinator to lead donor engagement and funding initiatives for its programs in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Based in Goma with regular travel to Kinshasa, the role supports the organization’s mission to provide lifesaving assistance in conflict‑affected provinces.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update donor mapping to identify new funding opportunities.
• Coordinate donor engagement, including scheduling meetings, preparing briefings, and documenting outcomes.
• Produce donor communication materials such as factsheets, concept notes, and proposal drafts.
• Track and manage the go/no‑go decision process for major funding opportunities.
• Facilitate pre‑positioning activities, including technical brainstorming, competitor and partner mapping, and design sessions.
• Research and disseminate information on bilateral, multilateral, and institutional funding calls.
• Link program priorities to donor interests and influence donor strategies.
• Maintain an updated information bank of community mapping, assessments, and research for future proposals.

Required profile

• Experience in business development, donor relations, or grant coordination within the humanitarian sector.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills to manage multiple donor pipelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Ability to travel regularly (approximately 40% of the time) between Goma and Kinshasa.
