Child Protection Officer - OCC

About the role

The Child Protection Officer will lead technical direction and coordination of child protection services within the Observation and Care Centre (OCC). The role ensures that vulnerable, unaccompanied and at‑risk children receive rapid, integrated, child‑centered protection interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise technical case management and guide child protection staff.
• Coordinate daily protection operations with the OCC site supervisor and manager.
• Strengthen multi‑sectoral collaboration with health, nutrition, WASH, MEAL and operations teams.
• Maintain liaison with government authorities, health structures, UNICEF, ICRC and local partners for effective case referrals and service delivery.
• Ensure all activities comply with Save the Children policies, national child protection systems, humanitarian principles and Minimum Standards for Child Protection.

Required profile

• Proven experience in child protection coordination and case management supervision.
• Ability to work closely with multisectoral teams and external partners.
• Knowledge of national child protection frameworks and humanitarian standards.
• Strong leadership and coordination skills.
