Head of Finance Department

About the role

The Head of Finance Department reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for the overall performance of the Finance function. The role ensures a robust internal control environment, high‑quality financial planning, and accurate statutory and group reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the finance team, overseeing accounting, planning & analysis, treasury, costing, internal control, statutory reporting and financial systems.
• Maintain internal policies, procedures and controls in line with legal requirements and Glencore Group standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on mine life plans, annual budgets and monthly forecasts.
• Produce reliable reports on operating costs, capital expenditures and working capital.
• Manage monthly closing, ensure general ledger integrity, and perform balance‑sheet analysis with corrective actions.
• Provide financial analyses, insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Oversee commercial transaction controls and contract management.
• Maintain the site’s internal control framework, including risk self‑assessment and key control testing.
• Manage audit findings and present the state of controls and major financial risks to the CFO.
• Lead investment file preparation, financial evaluation (NPV, IRR, payback, sensitivity) and governance.
• Drive financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, scenario analysis and variance reporting.
