Head of Finance Operations

About the role

We are seeking a Head of Finance Operations to lead financial strategy and execution for a leading commodity trading business operating in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The role combines financial reporting, cash management, and commercial finance to support fast‑paced, founder‑led growth.

Key responsibilities

• Build dashboards and reporting covering cash, working capital, profitability, trading positions and commercial risks.
• Establish approval thresholds, delegated authorities and escalation processes while maintaining speed of execution.
• Manage visibility over cash, receivables, payables, inventory, supplier obligations and funding requirements.
• Analyse profitability, margins, commodity exposure, hedging, customer/transaction performance and commercial risks.
• Identify external funding opportunities and improve finance processes, controls and reconciliations.

Required profile

• 8–14 years of experience in finance, commercial finance, treasury, trade finance, financial control or business finance.
• Experience in commodity trading, mining & metals, physical trading, industrial distribution or logistics with exposure to African markets.
• Strong expertise in working capital, cash flow, payment governance, management reporting and financial controls.
• Understanding of commodity trading, hedging, brokers/exchanges, inventory exposure and margin requirements.
• Fluent in English; Hindi is a plus; commercially minded and comfortable in fast‑paced environments.
