Health Manager (Emergency – Ebola Response), P-4

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Health Manager (Emergency – Ebola Response) at P‑4 level to support the ongoing Ebola outbreak response in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The role is based in Bunia and will focus on strengthening community‑based surveillance, case management and coordination of health interventions for vulnerable children and families.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor epidemiological data, community‑based surveillance, case finding and contact follow‑up in outbreak hotspots.
• Provide holistic case management and ensure continuity of essential health services.
• Integrate vaccination activities, information management, prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA), child protection and staff safety into operational planning.
• Support the Chief of Health and Senior Project Coordinator in delivering high‑quality, timely and accountable UNICEF interventions.
• Facilitate multi‑sectoral coordination with national authorities, NGOs and local partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience in emergency health response, preferably in Ebola or other infectious disease outbreaks.
• Strong coordination, adaptability and cultural sensitivity in insecure and humanitarian contexts.
• Ability to work under the strategic leadership of senior health officials and provide technical and operational guidance.
