Humanitarian Coordinator

About the role

The Humanitarian Coordinator will provide technical support and capacity‑building to partner organisations delivering short‑term food, non‑food assistance and nexus programmes that combine food security, livelihoods, humanitarian aid and peacebuilding.

Key responsibilities

• Assist partners throughout the project cycle – from situation assessments and concept notes to monitoring, evaluation and reporting (PMER).
• Assess partner capacity and deliver training/coaching on PMER, results‑based management and data visualization.
• Review, edit and ensure quality of partner reports, proposals and other project documents.
• Support compliance with project agreements, enter deliverables into MCC databases and monitor reporting deadlines.
• Visit partner sites regularly, translate French reports to English, and track humanitarian trends and population movements.
• Participate in OCHA coordination meetings and model non‑violent peacemaking in the workplace.

Required profile

• Commitment to a personal Christian faith, active church participation and non‑violent peacemaking.
• Highly proficient oral and written English; willingness to learn French and Swahili.
• University degree in Development Studies, Project Management, Agriculture, Business, History or related field (undergraduate required, graduate preferred).
• 1‑3 years experience in development programme coordination, management or M&E.
• Strong writing, editing and formatting abilities.
• Ability to work across cultural and linguistic boundaries and travel to rural areas as security permits.
