Infirmier(ère) Prévention et Contrôle des Infections – OCC

About the role

The Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Nurse will ensure that the Child Observation and Care Center (OCC) provides a safe, child‑friendly environment that meets IPC standards. Working closely with health authorities, WASH, protection, nutrition and logistics teams, the nurse will minimise the risk of Ebola and other infections for children, staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, coordinate and monitor IPC protocols in line with national guidelines and Save the Children standards.
• Supervise triage, health surveillance, early case identification, referral and risk‑management mechanisms within the OCC.
• Ensure the availability, proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other IPC supplies.
• Collaborate daily with child‑protection, health, nutrition, WASH and case‑management teams to deliver an integrated, child‑centred response.
• Provide training and mentorship to staff on IPC practices and respond to emergencies as required.

Required profile

• Qualified nurse with experience in infection prevention and control, preferably in humanitarian or epidemic settings.
• Ability to work under pressure, adapt schedules and respond to urgent humanitarian needs.
• Strong collaboration skills to work with multi‑sectoral teams and health authorities.

Required skills

• Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) expertise.
• Proficiency in the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
