Internal Audit Field Agent – Central Congo

About the role

GiveDirectly, which transfers cash directly to households in extreme poverty in the Democratic Republic of the Congo since 2018, is recruiting an internal audit field agent in Central Congo. The role covers data collection, beneficiary sensitization, community liaison and complaint handling.

Key responsibilities

• Collect accurate household survey data (census and follow-up) for eligible households, working with colleagues to ensure it is fair and meets GiveDirectly requirements
• Communicate the organization's key messages clearly and precisely
• Take part in debriefings with the team and supervisor
• Represent the organization externally, interacting with the public, local authorities, community representatives and civil society
• Receive complaints and questions from the community and respond reliably

Required profile

• University degree in a relevant field
• Previous experience as an investigator detecting fraud, theft or misappropriation, preferably in an international NGO
• Exceptional leadership ability, with proven success motivating and developing junior staff
• High integrity and confidentiality regarding beneficiary information
• Quick learner with a solution-oriented approach, diligence and attention to detail
• Good understanding of performance management, strong organizational skills and ability to work under tight deadlines
• Excellent conflict resolution and communication skills
• Fluency in French, Lingala and Kikongo; Kintundu and Kiyombe are an advantage

Required skills

• MS Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Good numerical skills
