Inventory Analyst – Mining Operations

About the role

The Kibali Gold Mine team is looking for an Inventory Analyst to manage critical material, spare parts, and equipment inventories. You will ensure optimal stock levels, support production continuity, and contribute to cost‑effective supply‑chain operations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse inventory levels of critical materials, spare parts and equipment to avoid stock‑outs and overstock.
• Establish and maintain Reorder Points (ROP) and Recommended Order Quantities (ROQ) for timely supply.
• Perform regular cycle counts and perpetual inventory control, reconciling discrepancies.
• Gather and analyse data on material utilisation, demand trends and market conditions to produce accurate forecasts.
• Generate and present inventory performance reports and KPIs to management.
• Coordinate with purchasing and logistics to manage purchase orders, track shipments and ensure on‑time delivery to the mine site.
• Liaise with operations, production, maintenance and finance to align inventory strategies with business objectives.
• Manage supplier relationships and monitor performance.
• Identify and implement process improvements using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
• Conduct quarterly obsolete and slow‑moving inventory reviews with end‑users.
• Ensure compliance with security, SOX, HSE and regulatory standards for storage and transport of chemicals.
• Identify supply‑chain risks and develop contingency plans.

Required profile

• Proven experience in inventory control or supply‑chain analysis, preferably in an industrial or mining environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
• Experience working with cross‑functional teams and managing supplier relationships.
• Knowledge of compliance requirements such as SOX and HSE regulations.
