Operations Manager – Ebola Response (6‑month contract)

About the role

The Operations Manager will lead and coordinate all operational functions for UNICEF’s Ebola response in Bunia, DRC. This six‑month temporary assignment ensures that supply chain, finance, administration, risk management and ICT systems are agile, risk‑informed and responsive to emergency needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight of supply chain, finance, administration, risk management and ICT for the Ebola response.
• Ensure timely delivery of supplies, rapid deployment of staff and continuity of essential services across affected areas.
• Advise the Ebola Coordination team on operational risks, governance, resource optimization and systems strengthening.
• Maintain internal controls and emergency risk management procedures aligned with the response plan.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing multi‑disciplinary operational functions in humanitarian or emergency settings.
• Strong analytical and decision‑making skills with a focus on risk‑informed approaches.
• Excellent coordination and communication abilities to work with national authorities, partners and field teams.
