Operations Manager – Emergency Response (6 months)

About the role

The Operations Manager will lead and coordinate all operational functions for UNICEF’s Ebola response in Bunia, DRC. This six‑month temporary appointment ensures that supply chain, finance, administration, risk management and ICT systems are agile and responsive to emergency needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for supply chain, logistics, finance, administration, risk management and ICT.
• Ensure timely delivery of supplies and rapid deployment of staff across affected areas.
• Oversee internal controls, emergency risk management and governance aligned with the emergency response plan.
• Advise the Ebola Coordination team on operational efficiency, resource optimisation and systems strengthening.
• Maintain continuity of essential services for vulnerable populations.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in humanitarian operations.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑disciplinary teams in complex, insecure environments.
• Strong coordination, analytical and decision‑making skills.
• Excellent communication and cultural sensitivity.
