Project Coordinator – School Infrastructure & WASH (PAAF)

About the role

The Project Coordinator will lead day‑to‑day coordination, monitoring and reporting of school construction and WASH infrastructure activities under the PAAF programme. Based in Kinshasa with regular field missions, the role ensures that works are delivered on time, within approved designs, technical specifications and UNICEF standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily implementation of school building and WASH projects, ensuring compliance with contractual, environmental and social safeguards.
• Monitor progress against project timelines, prepare regular status reports and flag any deviations.
• Liaise with contractors, government authorities, partners and UNICEF teams to resolve technical and operational issues.
• Verify that all works meet approved designs, technical specifications and UNICEF quality standards.
• Support procurement and logistical arrangements as required for field activities.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Project Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Hydraulics, Sanitary Engineering or a related field.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent formal project management training is a strong asset.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience managing, coordinating or supervising large‑scale construction or WASH projects.
• Demonstrated ability to work in challenging environments and to travel for field missions.
