Project Planner – Mining Operations (Kolwezi Site)

About the role

The Project Planner will lead the planning, scheduling and monitoring of mining and infrastructure projects at the Kolwezi site, ensuring timely execution, optimal resource use and alignment with production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for mining, infrastructure and site development activities.
• Prepare short‑term and long‑term plans (weekly, monthly, annual) and coordinate with operations, engineering, geology and maintenance teams.
• Track progress, identify delays, risks and bottlenecks, and conduct variance analysis with corrective actions.
• Monitor resource allocation (equipment, manpower, materials) to maximise efficiency.
• Prepare and present progress reports, dashboards and KPIs to management.
• Support budget planning, cost control and ensure compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory standards.
• Assist in mine development planning, including haul roads, pits, dumps and related infrastructure.
• Utilise planning tools such as Primavera P6 and MS Project for scheduling and tracking.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering or Project Management.
• 5‑10 years of experience in mining or large‑scale infrastructure projects, preferably in open‑pit operations.
• Certification in Project Management (PMP or Prince2) is an advantage.
• Ability to work in rotation‑based schedules and in field environments.

Required skills

• Strong expertise in project planning and scheduling.
