Regional Analyst – Great Lakes (Goma, DRC)

About the role

The International NGO Safety Organisation (INSO) is seeking a Regional Analyst for its Great Lakes focus area, based in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo. You will support humanitarian partners by analysing regional conflict dynamics and their impact on safety and access.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and produce analytical reports on prevailing regional conflict dynamics and their implications for humanitarian safety and access.
• Manage and deliver ad‑hoc products addressing emerging regional challenges.
• Contribute to country‑office products and inform regional decision‑making.
• Provide tailored analysis services to NGO partners upon request.
• Facilitate and participate in regional NGO coordination meetings and fora.
• Monitor regional developments using diverse sources such as NGOs, UN agencies, civil‑society organisations, research institutes and media.
• Build and maintain a network of contacts across the humanitarian community and relevant stakeholders.
• Liaise with INSO’s Analysis & Research Team to strengthen analytical capacity in the country office.

Required profile

• Experience monitoring regional developments and producing analytical reports.
• Familiarity with humanitarian security, conflict dynamics and access issues in the Great Lakes region.
• Ability to work closely with NGOs, UN agencies and other humanitarian actors.
• Strong communication skills for briefings, meetings and coordination forums.
