Chief of Party

About the role

Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Chief of Party to lead its USDOS‑funded humanitarian program in Bunia, Democratic Republic of the Congo. The role combines strategic oversight, staff development, and Christ‑centered leadership to deliver effective assistance to vulnerable communities.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and oversee USDOS‑funded programming, ensuring compliance with timelines, SOPs, and donor regulations.
• Lead, supervise, and mentor program staff, providing performance management, training, and spiritual support.
• Maintain fiscal stewardship, supporting budget development, spending projections, and responsible fund management.
• Prepare accurate performance reports, donor updates, and financial reviews in coordination with regional leadership.
• Coordinate monitoring, evaluation, and communication systems with relevant teams and external partners.
• Conduct regular field visits to assess program quality, address challenges, and identify future impact opportunities.
• Engage government authorities, UN agencies, and humanitarian actors to advance shared objectives.

Required profile

• Strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and ability to serve as a consistent witness.
• Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Public Administration, Business Administration, Economics, or related field; advanced education preferred.
• At least six years of international development or humanitarian work experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large‑scale, donor‑funded programs.
