Grants Financial Manager

About the role

The Grants Financial Manager will support senior management in the Democratic Republic of the Congo by providing financial analysis, budgeting, and spend forecasting for Medair’s Ebola response programme. Working closely with the Global Support Office Finance Partner, the Field Finance Manager and country leadership, the role ensures sound financial management of multiple grants and compliance with donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain systems and procedures to ensure compliance with donor contracts and eligibility of expenses.
• Maintain an overview of all active grants, allocate costs accurately, and maximise cost coverage.
• Conduct regular financial reviews, corrective actions and update cost‑coverage calculations.
• Support country leadership with financial analyses for staffing, equipment, fleet and other operational decisions.
• Assist teams in budgeting, spend forecasting and cash‑need projections, ensuring timely information for senior management.
• Monitor monthly grant spending, communicate variances to programme managers and agree on corrective actions.

Required profile

• Financial diploma or certificate in business administration, accounting or related field.
• 3‑5 years of post‑qualification experience, preferably in NGO relief finance or grant management.
• Proficiency in written and spoken French.
• Overseas experience in humanitarian relief work.

• Advanced Excel spreadsheet skills.
