About the role
The Livelihood Specialist will support the National Office in designing, implementing and improving livelihood programmes that help vulnerable children and families break the cycle of poverty. Working closely with field staff, partners and donors, the specialist ensures technical quality, capacity building and evidence‑based learning across all programme phases.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in developing the National Office strategy and livelihood technical approaches, guidance and programme design (25%).
- Provide technical leadership to field teams, incorporate research findings, and ensure relevance and innovation of livelihood interventions.
- Deliver capacity‑building activities for field staff and monitor the quality of all training events (15%).
- Support research, data interpretation and reporting for the Design Monitoring and Evaluation (DME) team, and produce publications and conference abstracts (5%).
- Contribute to grant and response proposals that include livelihood components, supplying ground data to the Grant Acquisition and Management team (15%).
- Assist field staff with timely reporting, supervise programme implementation, and ensure alignment with technical standards and logframe requirements (10%).
- Provide technical input for policy briefs, gather evidence from livelihood programmes and scale up Citizen Voice in Action (CVA) initiatives (10%).
- Represent the organisation in networking, partnership and external stakeholder meetings.
Required profile
- Proven experience in designing and managing livelihood programmes in humanitarian or development settings.
- Strong understanding of monitoring, evaluation and learning processes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with field staff, partners and donors in challenging environments.
- Excellent written communication skills for reporting, policy briefs and publications.
- Relevant academic background (e.g., development studies, agriculture, economics or related field).
