Logistics Specialist (P-3) – 6‑Month Contract

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Logistics Specialist (P‑3) for a six‑month assignment in Bunia, Democratic Republic of the Congo. The role supports the country office’s emergency response to the Ebola outbreak, ensuring that essential supplies reach vulnerable children and communities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the logistics team in planning, customs clearance, warehousing, in‑country transport and distribution of humanitarian supplies.
• Coordinate emergency supply chain activities and monitor performance against targets.
• Collaborate with programme sections and implementing partners to align logistics operations with programme needs.
• Provide technical and advisory support to government authorities and national logistics systems.
• Maintain accurate logistics records and reporting for accountability and transparency.

Required profile

• UN P‑3 level or equivalent professional experience in logistics and supply chain management.
• Proven experience in humanitarian or emergency logistics, preferably in complex security environments.
• Strong ability to work with government agencies, NGOs and UN partners.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on results.
