MEAL Officer – Monitoring & Evaluation (Short-Term)

About the role

The MEAL Officer will support the TUDIENZELE food security programme in Kasaï province, DRC. Reporting to the MEAL Manager, the officer will ensure robust monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning processes that drive evidence‑based decision‑making and meet donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain MEAL tools, data collection instruments and indicator frameworks for the project.
• Support data collection, cleaning, analysis and reporting, contributing to quarterly and annual project reports.
• Conduct regular data quality assessments and audits, flagging issues and recommending corrective actions.
• Collaborate with programme staff to ensure timely and accurate data capture for outputs, outcomes and impact.
• Review partner monthly progress reports, verify evidence, and provide feedback.
• Integrate cross‑cutting issues such as gender, age, disability and participation into monitoring activities.
• Maintain the overall results framework and ensure alignment with humanitarian M&E standards.

Required profile

• Passionate and engaged professional who embodies values of connectedness, courage and compassion.
• Experience working in humanitarian or food‑security programmes, preferably in the DRC.
• Strong understanding of M&E frameworks, humanitarian indicators and donor reporting requirements.
• Ability to work under the supervision of the MEAL Manager and collaborate with multi‑partner teams.

Required skills

• Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation methodologies and tools.
• Experience with data quality assessment and reporting.
• Familiarity with gender, age and disability inclusion in monitoring.
