Operations Manager – Emergency Response (6‑month contract)

About the role

The Operations Manager will provide strategic leadership and coordination of all operational functions for UNICEF’s Ebola response in Bunia. This 6‑month assignment ensures that supply chain, finance, administration, risk management and ICT systems are agile, risk‑informed and able to meet urgent humanitarian needs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee supply chain, logistics and service delivery for emergency response.
• Manage financial resources, budgeting and reporting in a high‑risk environment.
• Coordinate administration, field operations and ICT support for rapid deployment.
• Implement internal controls, risk‑management procedures and emergency governance.
• Advise the Ebola Coordination team on operational efficiency, resource optimisation and systems strengthening.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in humanitarian or emergency operations.
• Strong understanding of multi‑sectoral coordination, risk management and governance.
• Ability to work in insecure, resource‑constrained settings with cultural sensitivity.
• Excellent analytical and decision‑making skills under pressure.
