Operations Specialist – Ebola Response (DRC)

About the role

The Operations Specialist will be based in Beni and Butembo and will provide strategic leadership, coordination and oversight of all operational functions for UNICEF’s Ebola response in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The role ensures that supply chain, finance, administration, risk management and ICT systems are agile, risk‑informed and able to meet emergency needs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate supply‑chain, finance, administration, risk management and ICT activities across the Ebola response.
• Ensure timely delivery of supplies, rapid deployment of staff and continuity of essential services.
• Advise the Ebola Coordination team on operational approaches, risk mitigation, governance and resource optimisation.
• Promote value for money, develop people resources and strengthen operational systems.
• Enhance risk‑management processes to improve organisational performance.
