Senior Finance Officer – Oil & Gas (DRC)

About the role

Our client, a leading oil & gas company operating in the Democratic Republic of Congo, seeks a Senior Finance Officer to oversee financial planning, reporting, budgeting and controls across regional operations in Kenya, Tanzania and Mozambique. The role reports directly to the Directors and supports senior management with data‑driven insights and compliance assurance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all accounting transactions in line with IFRS and DRC regulations.
• Prepare and supervise monthly, quarterly and annual financial closings, balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
• Lead the audit process and act as primary liaison with external auditors.
• Support migration to a new accounting system, ensuring data integrity and audit continuity.
• Develop working‑capital models, cash‑flow forecasts and financial planning tools.
• Ensure compliance with DRC financial legislation, statutory reporting and AML/KYC requirements.
• Lead ERP implementation, treasury operations, cash‑management and short‑term investment decisions.
• Handle trade‑finance activities such as letters of credit, bank guarantees and documentary collections.
• Maintain relationships with local and regional banks to secure financing and FX facilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (CPA/ACCA preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar finance role within the oil & gas sector.
• Proven experience managing full‑cycle accounting, audits and ERP implementations.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and DRC financial regulations.

What we offer

• Gross salary range KSh 280,000 – 300,000 per month
• Three‑year renewable contract
