Cargo Supervisor – Freight Operations

About the role

The Cargo Supervisor is the primary point of contact for all operational matters at the assigned station(s) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. You will oversee the cargo warehouse and freighter ramp, ensuring safe, secure and on‑time delivery of high‑profile shipments while meeting performance targets such as OTP, eAWB and SLA.

Key responsibilities

• Drive and improve freighter on‑time performance through ramp coordination and supervision of freighter operations.
• Plan and execute complex cargo loads for passenger and freighter flights.
• Provide on‑the‑job training, coaching and advice to GHA staff.
• Conduct regular safety and security inspections in line with SMS guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Implement best‑practice processes to achieve revenue targets, cost savings and compliance.
• Perform ad‑hoc tasks at other stations and manage VIP/special shipments from acceptance to delivery.
• Handle finance activities in SAP (raise PR, PO, GRN and verify supplier invoices).
• Escalate medium‑ or high‑level risks to senior management.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of cargo operations experience or equivalent.
• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Familiarity with cargo handling processes, regulatory compliance and computer air‑freight specifications.
• Industry training in Dangerous Goods, Cargo Operations, Security, Quality or Auditing is an advantage.
