General Manager

About the role

The General Manager will lead MIDEMA’s overall operations and strategic direction, driving sustainable growth, operational excellence, and compliance with Seaboard standards across the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute annual and long‑term business plans, manage budget, CAPEX projects and risk reviews.
• Uphold Seaboard governance, ensuring consistent communication with the Board, ministries and embassies and full compliance with DRC and OHADA regulations.
• Oversee production, maintenance and logistics to guarantee reliability, safety, quality and efficiency.
• Lead commercial strategy to grow market share, profitability and drive product development and marketing.
• Coach and develop a high‑performing, diverse management team while fostering a culture of accountability and integrity.
• Represent MIDEMA with government entities, regulators and diplomatic missions.
• Provide administrative and governance oversight for the CCLD medical clinic under the Bresky Foundation.

Required profile

• 15+ years senior leadership in industrial, agri‑food or manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Economics or related field (MBA preferred).
• Proven experience in multinational environments managing cross‑functional, multicultural teams.
• Strong financial acumen and strategic thinking with a track record of measurable results.
• Demonstrated stakeholder management at government and board level; board or executive committee experience preferred.
• Fluent in French and English (verbal and written).
