Lead Civil Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a highly experienced Lead Civil Engineer to drive the design, coordination, and construction of a new abattoir facility. The role focuses on integrating civil, structural steel, refrigeration, and electrical works to deliver a fully operational slaughterhouse, while also supporting related infrastructure projects as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning, design coordination, and construction supervision for the abattoir, covering civil works, steel structures, cold rooms, and service installations.
• Oversee reinforced concrete works such as foundations, slabs, drainage, underground tanks, and equipment bases.
• Supervise erection of structural steel buildings, roofing systems, and support platforms.
• Coordinate installation of cold rooms and refrigeration systems, ensuring structural support and integration with other disciplines.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources, and liaise with contractors, suppliers, and consultants.
• Conduct site inspections, enforce safe construction practices, and provide technical support to ancillary projects (farm infrastructure, housing, workshops, silos, water systems).
• Prepare progress reports and maintain regular communication with project management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial, agricultural, or infrastructure construction.
• Proven experience with steel structures, reinforced concrete, and industrial buildings.
• Familiarity with abattoir, cold‑room, silo, or processing‑plant projects is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of coordination between civil, mechanical, and electrical works.
