Project Planner – Mining Operations (Kolwezi Site)

About the role

The Project Planner will lead the planning, scheduling and monitoring of mining and infrastructure projects at the Kolwezi site. You will ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget and in line with production targets while supporting safe and environmentally compliant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for mining, infrastructure and site development activities using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Prepare short‑term (weekly) and long‑term (monthly, annual) plans and align them with operations, engineering, geology and maintenance teams.
• Track progress, identify delays, risks and bottlenecks, and conduct variance analysis to recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor resource allocation (equipment, manpower, materials) to optimise utilisation.
• Produce progress reports, dashboards and KPI presentations for management.
• Support budget planning, cost control and ensure compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory standards.
• Assist in mine development planning, including haul roads, pits, dumps and related infrastructure.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering or Project Management.
• 5–10 years of experience in mining or large‑scale infrastructure projects, preferably open‑pit mining.
• Proven ability to work in cross‑functional teams and manage complex schedules.
• Certification in Project Management (PMP or Prince2) is an advantage.
