Senior Electrical Engineer

About the role

WSP is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to act as the technical authority for complex energy projects across its Energy business. The role provides strategic leadership, technical governance, and expert input to ensure high‑quality electrical design and delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Define and oversee electrical design strategies, standards and best practices for large‑scale energy, power and industrial projects.
• Provide expert technical review, assurance and approval of electrical designs.
• Lead high‑risk technical decision‑making and solve complex engineering problems.
• Advise clients and project teams on challenging electrical engineering issues.
• Contribute to work‑winning, bid strategies and technical proposals.
• Mentor senior engineers and support capability development within the discipline.
• Ensure alignment with WSP’s technical excellence, safety, environmental and quality frameworks.

Required profile

• BEng or BSc in Electrical Engineering with 15+ years of design and project delivery experience.
• Recognised technical authority in electrical engineering, with professional registration (ECSA preferred).
• Extensive experience on large‑scale energy, power or industrial projects.
• Strong leadership, judgement and decision‑making capability.
• Excellent client‑facing and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across geographies.
