Senior Item Master Data Analyst

About the role

The Senior Item Master Data Analyst will own, manage and analyse the Kamoa Item Master, ensuring that all inventory data flows accurately into ERP systems to minimise stockholding. The role leads a team of cataloguers and acts as the subject‑matter expert for inventory master data within a large copper mining operation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and continuously improve the Kamoa Item Master to ensure clean, accurate material records.
• Supervise a team of cataloguers, guaranteeing compliance with Kamoa policies, ANSI, UNSPSC and Oniqua standards.
• Serve as the gatekeeper for item master data, overseeing data quality and acting as the primary point of contact for stakeholders.
• Provide expertise on ERP integration, supporting SAP, JDEdwards and OrbFusion environments.
• Monitor costs, drive efficiencies and support the organisation’s skills‑transfer agenda.
• Prepare and deliver regular reports on master data performance and compliance.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Data Science or Information Systems.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a data analyst in a mining supply‑chain context.
• At least 2 years of experience supervising a technical team.
• Fluent business English; French or Swahili is a strong advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (MS Office) for data manipulation.
• Experience with JDEdwards (Oracle) and SAP ERP systems.
• Proficiency in OrbFusion and SQL programming.
• Knowledge of ANSI, UNSPSC and Oniqua methodologies.
• Understanding of supply‑chain process flows and mining inventory management.
