Senior Superintendent I, Geology

About the role

The Senior Superintendent I, Geology will lead the KCSA Geology department, ensuring best‑practice geological input into mining operations and maximising ore quality and recovery.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate a world‑class geology function for KCSA.
• Develop and implement geology structures, policies, plans and governance.
• Plan, schedule and oversee drilling programmes.
• Manage contractors, consultants and service providers.
• Provide subject‑matter expertise, drive problem solving and continuous improvement.
• Stakeholder management across the value chain.
• Lead departmental budgeting, forecasting and financial control.
• Champion HSEQ standards and ensure safety, health and wellbeing.

Required profile

• Degree in Geology.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in exploration and mining geology.
• Mining experience in African countries is highly advantageous.
• Proficiency in business English; French and Swahili are a plus.
• Strong analytical, judgment and risk‑management capabilities.

Required skills

• Structural geology and deposit geology.
• Sampling and resource geology.
• Drilling experience.
• Knowledge of mine‑related legislation.
• Advanced computer literacy: MS Office, Leapfrog, Datamine, Sable, CadsMine, Geomodelling.
