Senior Superintendent II – Mining Operations

About the role

The Senior Superintendent II will lead the mining function at Kamoa Copper Mine, ensuring safe and efficient ore extraction to meet production targets. Reporting to senior management, you will coordinate teams, manage contractors, and drive continuous improvement across the operation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a world‑class mining function and implement effective production processes, plans and governance structures.
• Analyse mining plans and technical documentation to guide extraction while adhering to HSE and quality standards.
• Lead and support contractors to deliver on schedule and budget.
• Drive problem‑solving, continuous improvement and stakeholder relationships to optimise the value chain.
• Oversee people development, fostering an inclusive work environment.
• Forecast, secure and manage the budget in line with the Delegation of Authority Matrix.
• Lead transformation initiatives including automation, digitisation and sustainability.
• Embed a strong HSEQ culture to safeguard employee safety, health and well‑being.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Mining Engineering.
• Mine Manager’s Certificate or equivalent.
• Completed leadership/management courses.
• Minimum 10 years experience in an underground mechanised/trackless mine.
• At least 4 years experience as a Section Manager.
• Business‑level proficiency in English; French and Swahili are highly advantageous.
