Subawards and Partnerships Advisor (DRC, Kinshasa)

About the role

The Subawards and Partnerships Advisor will support the National Program Manager in overseeing all Ipas sub‑recipients in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This full‑time position ensures that sub‑grant processes, partnership activities and risk management align with Ipas strategic goals and donor expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between sub‑recipients and the Ipas DRC office, ensuring clear communication and accountability.
• Coordinate the selection, contracting and close‑out of sub‑recipients in collaboration with health, community, finance and logistics units.
• Conduct risk assessments for each partner, develop mitigation plans, and monitor compliance with Ipas policies, safeguarding standards and donor requirements.
• Analyze sub‑recipient proposals, monitor project implementation, and provide feedback to improve alignment with program objectives.
• Document success stories, maintain the Ipas database, and create learning spaces for internal and external knowledge sharing.
• Identify partnership opportunities, contribute to proposal development and donor reporting, and support local partners in technical and operational matters.

Required profile

• Experience managing sub‑awards, partnerships or similar grant‑making processes.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment, compliance and financial oversight in a nonprofit or development context.
• Ability to coordinate across multiple functional units and maintain clear documentation.
• Excellent communication skills to serve as the focal point between Ipas and its partners.
