Temple Facilities Assistant II

About the role

The Temple Facilities Assistant II supports the operation and maintenance of a temple, ensuring that all ordinances are recorded accurately and that patrons enjoy a positive, uplifting environment. This full‑time onsite role works under the direction of the Temple Facility Manager and collaborates with other staff to keep the facility running at the standards set by church leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and optimize computerized heating, ventilation, and air‑conditioning systems for maximum efficiency.
• Service water‑treatment equipment for boilers, culinary water, and cooling towers, performing pH, hardness, and conductivity tests.
• Maintain and repair laundry and kitchen equipment, including dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, ice makers, and bread mixers.
• Manage baptismal font filtration and water‑purification systems to meet local code requirements.
• Maintain electrical systems, including high‑voltage three‑phase wiring, motor controls, and lighting circuits.
• Service electronic systems such as the Temple Recording System, TV terminals, printers, cable lines, and power supplies.
• Adjust and service projection, sound, and communication systems.
• Participate in the annual facilities budget process, time‑card submission, and FMAT project administration.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of technical training in a skilled trade.
• At least four years of experience in physical plant operations, covering electrical, electronics, plumbing, welding, carpentry, painting, construction, blueprint reading, mechanics, or floor coverings.
• Ability to rotate shifts and learn essential temple systems.
• Basic computer proficiency and any licenses required by local law.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
