About the role

The World Food Programme is seeking a Logistics Assistant (Roster) on a fixed‑term basis (G‑6) to support its supply‑chain operations across various locations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The role involves providing specialised logistical support and supervising a small team to ensure the smooth delivery of humanitarian assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor logistics procedures for food and non‑food assistance.
• Supervise and mentor a small team of logistics staff.
• Coordinate transport, warehousing and distribution activities.
• Resolve day‑to‑day operational issues with sound judgement.
• Maintain accurate records and reports in line with WFP standards.

Required profile

• Demonstrated responsibility and initiative in autonomous work environments.
• Ability to make decisions under limited guidance.
• Strong supervisory and team‑leadership skills.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities for unforeseen logistical challenges.
