Logistics Specialist – Fixed‑Term (6 months) – Bunia, DRC

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Logistics Specialist (P‑3) on a six‑month fixed‑term appointment to support its emergency response and supply chain operations in Bunia, Democratic Republic of Congo. The role will contribute to ensuring that essential goods reach vulnerable children and communities amid the ongoing Ebola outbreak.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and monitor the end‑to‑end logistics cycle, including customs clearance, warehousing, in‑country transport and distribution of humanitarian supplies.
• Provide technical and advisory support to government authorities, national systems and implementing partners on logistics management.
• Collaborate with programme teams to align logistics activities with humanitarian programme needs and results.
• Manage performance indicators, reporting and continuous improvement of logistics processes.
• Support emergency supply chain coordination and preparedness activities.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree or equivalent professional experience in logistics, supply chain management or a related field.
• Experience working in humanitarian or development contexts, preferably in emergency settings.
• Demonstrated ability to work in insecure and rapidly changing environments.
• Strong coordination and communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
