Agriculture and Market Systems Development Manager

About the role

The Agriculture and Market Systems Development Manager will lead and coordinate the implementation of the Food Security Project (FSP) in the rural areas of Miti Murhesa, Katana and Kalehe, DRC. The role ensures that program activities are delivered on time, within scope and budget while fostering youth and women participation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and vision for the program, coordinating with consortium partners, local authorities and Mercy Corps teams.
• Oversee the design and implementation of market system development interventions for 72 producer organizations, including capacity building, market linkages and business model support.
• Integrate agriculture activities with health/nutrition and good governance sectors to promote a cohesive Theory of Change.
• Ensure compliance with Mercy Corps’ gender policy, Do No Harm principles and beneficiary accountability standards.
• Collaborate with MEL teams to embed monitoring, evaluation and learning into program delivery.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and monitor program activities in rural settings.
• Experience developing partnerships and influencing stakeholders for program ownership and support.
• Strong understanding of agricultural value chains, market systems and community‑based development.
