Area Food Security Cluster Coordinator – Goma, DRC

About the role

The Area Food Security Cluster Coordinator (CC) is a core member of the Food Security Cluster coordination team, responsible for ensuring timely, coherent and effective food security interventions in eastern DRC. Based in Goma, the CC works impartially with all cluster members, supports service delivery, informs strategic decisions and contributes to humanitarian planning.

Key responsibilities

• Support service delivery and coordinate humanitarian actors to respond strategically to food security crises.
• Inform strategic decisions of the Humanitarian Coordinator, Humanitarian Country Team and Country Management Team.
• Coordinate, plan and implement cluster strategies, including contingency planning and preparedness.
• Monitor and evaluate cluster and sector performance.
• Build capacity of national and FSC members in preparedness and contingency planning.
• Advocate for affected populations and ensure accountability to them.

Required profile

• University degree in food security, agriculture, economics, humanitarian affairs or a related field.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in humanitarian response at a mid‑ or senior‑level.
• Mandatory experience in food‑security topics; experience in the Food Security Cluster is desirable.
• Working knowledge of both French and English.
• Willingness and ability to work in difficult, stress‑filled, time‑critical environments.
