Area Support Manager

About the role

The Area Support Manager will work closely with the Area Manager and Programme teams in Bunia to ensure smooth financial, logistical and operational support for NRC programmes in Ituri. The role requires strong resilience, solid financial management skills and the ability to coordinate procurement, fleet and warehouse activities in a challenging security environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and verify project procurement plans before project start and consolidate them at the area level.
• Ensure spending plans are accurate, entered in the system and that budget monitoring reflects real commitments.
• Oversee transport, storage and distribution planning in collaboration with the Humanitarian, Access and Safety Officer.
• Maintain up‑to‑date master budgets for support teams, bases and fleet.
• Conduct local market analysis and support the establishment of framework agreements for supplies and services.
• Guarantee compliance with NRC SOPs and values across recruitment, staff care, supply and payment processes.
• Produce timely financial, fleet and warehouse reports (monthly and annual).
• Develop local logistics and fleet strategies to facilitate operations.
• Manage staffing needs for support components, including trainees and daily workers.
• Perform periodic asset and warehouse spot checks and propose improvement actions.

Required profile

• Resilient and able to work in insecure, rapidly changing environments.
• Proven experience in financial management, budgeting and procurement within humanitarian or NGO settings.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and financial figures.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills to work with multiple programme and logistics teams.
