Country Director – USAID Global Health Supply Chain (DRC)

About the role

Chemonics is seeking a Country Director to lead the USAID Global Health Supply Chain – Technical Assistance Francophone Task Order in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. The role oversees technical assistance that strengthens health supply systems across the DRC, Benin and Niger, and supports the USAID West Africa Regional Mission.

Key responsibilities

• Directly supervise management‑level staff and oversee Francophone Task Order personnel in the DRC.
• Maintain strong relationships with USAID, the DRC Ministry of Health, local governments and other key stakeholders.
• Implement annual work plans and budgets that reflect USAID, Ministry of Health and partner priorities.
• Identify and promote program achievements, best practices and lessons learned in collaboration with communications staff.
• Delegate tasks efficiently to ensure effective implementation of a complex portfolio.
• Apply appropriate management methodologies to plan, organize and control resources.
• Oversee reporting, conduct performance reviews and drive evidence‑based interventions.
• Coordinate capacity‑building assistance for national health systems.
• Report results regularly to the Mission, Ministry of Health, funders and Chemonics headquarters.
• Ensure timely submission of all deliverables.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in health, management or a related discipline.
• Minimum twelve years of experience in public health, supply chain or related fields.
• Proven experience supervising management‑level staff and leading multi‑stakeholder projects.
• Demonstrated ability to develop technical strategies, work plans and budgets aligned with USAID and Ministry of Health priorities.
