Deputy General Manager – Finance & Accounts (DRC)

About the role

The Deputy General Manager – Finance & Accounts will lead all financial and fiscal management activities for Shalina Healthcare in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This senior position reports to senior leadership and provides strategic financial insight to drive the company’s growth and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee regional financial activities, including planning, analysis, reporting and KPI monitoring.
• Collaborate with functional heads to design operating plans and assess performance.
• Analyse cash flow, costs, expenses and financial statements to identify risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Maintain bookkeeping in line with generally accepted auditing standards.
• Manage relationships with statutory authorities, tax regulators and internal auditors.
• Ensure tax planning and compliance with local tax laws.
• Develop robust internal control processes and SOPs tailored to operational needs.
• Mitigate foreign‑exchange risk using available hedging mechanisms.

Required profile

• Tertiary finance/accounting qualification (CA preferred) with a secondary qualification such as B.Com.
• 10‑15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, retail or consumer‑goods sector.
• Minimum of 3 years in a regional finance business‑partner role.
• Prior experience in Africa is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Self‑starter with strong independent motivation.
